Instructional Strategies
The way students are exposed to content is just as important as the content they are exposed to. When students are taught in a way that validates their experiences, includes them in the active process of learning, and engages them with fun activities, they are far more likely to be engaged and develop new skills. Developing a sense community through strengthening relationships between myself and my students, as well as between students helps create a learning environment that encourages and fosters growth.
The instructional strategies I employ in the classroom are a integral to student success. The five strategies discussed in this section provide multiple points of access to the material as well as a variety of ways for students to show their learning throughout the lesson. Incorporating opportunities for students to use multiple forms of communication and methods of learning gives students greater chance of academic success.
